Reputedly published by Anton Koberger, Nuremburg, late 15th century. Double sided paper page with printed Latin text and hand painted letter "D" with scene of priest blessing a child. Vining tendrils extend down left border and across top. Below is a deer with gold antlers. Frame plaque has Koberger's name with date 1482 and also includes "Nicholas Glockenden" (early 16th century Nuremburg manuscript painter). Heavyfoxing and added strip to side with text only. Framed between plexiglas, 19.5"h. 15.25"w.
Condition
03-18-21 Heavily foxed on both sides, some insect damage to edges. Top margin has added strip of paper on side with the illuminated letter.
