Two 1 Gallon Solomon Bell, Strasburg, VA Stoneware Crocks
Item Details
Description
Both good with no cracks or lines, the shorter crock has two small rim flakes, the taller crock has decoration that was darkened in the kiln. ************** The Shenandoah Valley stoneware in this auction was acquired directly from Bell family descendants-one lot includes historic Bell family photographs and a western USA Bell family travel scrap book. All the stone ware was collected by family members during the 60's and 70's from various valley sources, in an effort to reclaim items and help preserve the family history; some jars have the date and price paid, along with auction and dealer ID's. Nice interesting group of stoneware.
