Item Details

Description

Mid 18th century, pine. Two piece. Top has two over four graduated dovetailed drawers with replaced brasses, and a hidden compartment in the cornice. Base has one over three drawers, central fan carving, scalloped apron and pad feet. Later red paint has wear. Age splits and some edge loss. 68.5"h. 37"w. 18.5"d.

Condition

There is a difference in the depth of the top and bottom drawer fronts. Top is 3/4", bottom is 1" but the dovetails top and bottom are all 1 1/4" and both top and bottom drawers have replaced pulls with center holes in matching locations for original brasses. Top edge of drawer sides match top & bottom. Paint is 2nd half 20th century with wear. Some edge loss and traces of other paint remain in drawers.
